Corporate Services

Employers increasingly recognise the financial sense of providing specialist support to help employees deal more effectively with stress in their lives.
Although a certain amount of pressure may have a positive effect on Managers and staff, individuals and the team may suffer when it is excessive.

  • Individual Staff Problems
  • Team Problems
  • Staff Management
  • Redundancy
  • Conflict Resolution

Individual Staff Problems

The Beech Group offers one-to-one support to staff members who may be finding
difficulty in achieving the level of performance expected by their organisation.

Often when problems become unmanageable, employees take sick leave,
sometimes for lengthy periods. We aim to help people regain control
of their lives and return to peak efficiency.

Team Problems

Forming and being able to work as a team is often vital to the success of a
company. A team is a group of individuals with the same goals and
sometimes work is needed to help the individuals focus on the benefits
of working to a common end.

The Beech Group helps to build high performance teams through programmes
which focus on the team dynamics as a whole and, where necessary, on the
individual participants. This ensures that members of the team recognise their
role and how working together can enhance the efficiency of the organisation.

We achieve success by setting up tailored training courses incorporating work
with individuals, as well as the group as a whole.

Staff Management

Our experience is that people are sometimes promoted to management because
they have demonstrated their knowledge and skills within a particular field.
They may have concentrated on becoming experts in their chosen field and not
developed sufficient levels of people skills.

The Beech Group will teach the skills necessary to bring out the best in staff by
undertaking individual and small group coaching. We would address:

  • Communication
  • Presentation
  • Self Esteem
  • Anger Management

Redundancy

There are occasions when companies need to reduce their workforce in order
to meet the demands of today's financial climate. Alternatively, there may be
a need to relocate to an area in another part of the country or even another
country. Often employees are unwilling or unable to move with the
organisation.

In these circumstances there is likely to be a loss of confidence and feelings of hopelessness. However, staff are likely to face the loss of their jobs less negatively
if they have the benefit of working with a professional who will provide support
and offer practical help in deciding about the future.

The Beech Group is able to:

  • Assist individuals to accept the change
  • Assess future potential
  • Enhance CV preparation
  • Develop plans for the future
  • Look at alternatives to mainstream employment

Conflict Resolution

Good working relationships between staff members and management
lead to an efficient and successful workforce. Sometimes disputes arise which,
if dealt with early, can be swiftly resolved with little or no loss of work time,
resulting in a tension-free environment. However, if the issues are not
addressed a small incident can quickly spiral into a major conflict.

We are able to respond quickly and calmly to reduce the temperature and
enable the individuals to focus on where the problems lie. This will be
achieved by:

  • Listening to the situation from all points of view
  • Encouraging a dialogue between the protagonists

Other Services

Training Courses and Workshops

In addition to running in-house courses for organisations, we also run courses
at our own premises.

In the main these courses are for individuals who are interested in personal
development, but on occasdions companies do send individual employees
when they feel a particular problem needs to be resolved.

Our courses and workshops include:

  • Stress Management
  • Assertiveness
  • Anger Management
  • Building Successful Relationships

Supervision

Supervision is an essential element of good practive in most professional
organisations. Whether the individual is a beginner or a senior practitioner,
a supervisor is someone to whom they can take their work for discussion and help.

In addition to individual sessions, there are situations that benefit from
group supervision. This will offer an opportunity for members to gain ideas and
support from their peers and may be part of the conflict resolution process.

Time Management

Many people have difficulty completing all the many tasks of their day without
working additional hours on top of the normal working day. This is likely to result
in late arrival or missed appointments.

The Beech Group teaches people to:

  • Prioritise their work
  • Develop good working practices
  • Learn realistic time scales
  • Successfully work to deadlines

Critical Incident Debriefing

As well as front line services such as Police, Fire and Ambulance Service there
are many other organisations who deal with the public, whose
members of staff experience traumatic events from time-to-time.
When this occurs those people who are affected are more likely to recover
quickly and return to full employment if they have the opportunity of
talking about the event with their colleagues with the help of a skilled
professional.
We are able to offer this service by qualified members of staff, who are
able to sensitively draw out the feelings and thoughts of the
individual team members.
